Her sister, Rebecca, was married to William Travers and, after his death, became the wife of Joseph Finegan (who later served as a General in the Civil War). Mrs. Reid had much praise for Travers and contempt for Finegan.
Newspaper articles, which have been transcribed, cover the years from 1821 – 1860. These mention the Swann family business and also contain items of genealogical interest.
